Well, I've been listening to metal for much of my young life.... The singer is not a Doro Pesch, but with some more experience, she can get there. They do not sound certain of what they want. They're cramming too many different subgenres into every one song and having them fight for dominance. It's a little agitating. It makes me think of Dirkschneider's ACCEPT days. Unpopular opinion, I feel Udo - and much later ACCEPT - tapped into their full power when they parted ways. Their songs felt like they were pushing the dam to it's limit but it remained unbroken. These guys? The opening song 'Denier' was the only one I liked because it had a traditional metal consistency.

Come on, we have freeways freeroad, whats next ? Autobahn ? Kreisverkehr maybe?

It's hard to believe that this is a debut album! Metal is generally not the genre that I enjoy most, but 2024 has produced a bumper crop of amazing heavy music, and this album is as good as the best of it! Well done Dolmen Gate! Can't wait to hear more! 🇵🇹
